On-Chip Serial ATA
Disabled | Disables the onboard SATA. |
Auto | The system will detect the existing SATA and |
| IDE drives then automatically set them to the |
| available master/slave mode. |
Combined Mode | This option allows you to use both IDE and |
| SATA drives; allowing a maximum of 4 drives - |
| 1 IDE Master, 1 IDE Slave and 2 SATA. You |
| must manually set the SATA and PATA drives’ |
| mode in the “PATA IDE Mode” and “SATA |
| Port” fields. |
Enhanced Mode | This option allows you to use both IDE and |
| SATA drives; allowing a maximum of 6 drives - |
| 1 IDE Master, 1 IDE Slave and 4 SATA. |
SATA Only | This option automatically sets the SATA drives |
| to Primary Master mode. Since the SATA |
| drives are in Master mode, you cannot set the |
| IDE drive to Master mode. |
PATA IDE Mode
This field is used to select the function mode for the IDE 1 connector and its relation to the SATA ports.
Primary IDE 1 serves as Primary Master and Primary Slave channel. SATA 2 and SATA 4 serve as Secondary Master and Secondary Slave channel. SATA 1 and SATA 3 are disabled.
Secondary IDE 1 serves as Secondar y Master and Secondary Slave channel. SATA 1 and SATA 3 serve as Primary Master and Primary Slave channel. SATA 2 and SATA 4 are disabled.
