Dialogue Level
TheDialogueLevelparameterisdiscussedinDialogueLevelonpage 86.
Channel Mode
Thisparameter(alsoknownasAudioCodingmode)indicatestheactivechannelswithinthe
encodedbitstreamandaffectsboththeencoderandconsumerdecoder.Thisparameter
instructstheencoderwhichinputstouseforthisparticularprogram;ittellsthedecoder
whatchannelsarepresentinthisprogramsothedecodercandelivertheaudiotothe
correctspeakers.
ThesettingisdescribedasX/Y,whereXisthenumberoffrontchannels(Left,Center,
Right)andYthenumberofrear(Surround)channels.
TheavailabilityofcertainchannelmodesdependsontheDolbyDigitalencoderdatarate
andwhether��theLFEchannelispresent.Forexample,youcan’thaveamonostreamwith
anLFEchannel(1.1)ora3/2streamat96kbps.Appropriatedataratesareshowninthe
definitionofeachsetting.
LFE Channel
ThestatusoftheLFEChannelparameterindicatestoaDolbyDigitalencoderwhetheran
LFEChannelispresentwithinthebitstream.ChannelmodedetermineswhethertheLFE
