Using the DP570 Features Generating and Adjusting Metadata
4.3.1 Choosing the Source of Metadata
Normallyyouwilluseanentiremetadatastreamfromonesource,butthatisnotrequired.
Youcontrolthissourcechoiceatthreelevels:
1. Youchooseaprogramconfiguration.Thisdefaultsallparametersforallprogramsin
thestreamtothesourceyouchose:internal,external1,orexternal2.
AnexampleofthisconfigurationisaQCenvironment,wheretheoperatorusesthe
entiremetadatastreamtomonitortheoverallaudioquality.
2. Youchooseasourceforaparticularprogram.Thisautomaticallysetsthedefault
sourceforallparametersintheprogrambutdoesnotaffectanyoftheotherprograms
inthestream.
3. Youcanchooseanexternalsourceforanindividualparameterwhichaffectsonlythat
selectedparameter.
Typic ally youwoulddothistocorrectaknownerror.
DolbyRemote570makesselectingthemetadatasourcesimple.Choosinganexternal
programconfigurationorprogramchangesparametersettingsautomatically.Individual
parameterscanstillbechangedwithoutaffectingotherparameters.
Metadatasourcechoicesstaysetuntil:
•Youmanuallychangeasource���choice.
•Youreceiveadifferentprogramconfiguration.

Whenthesourceisinternal, thedefaultvaluestheDP570appliesaredeterminedbythe
numberofchannelsintheinputasshowninTable 4 1.
