Getting Started Installing the DP570
2.3.1 Venting
Dolby®professionalaudioproductsaredesignedtooperatewithinatemperaturerangeof
5°Cto45°C.Theyusenaturalconvectioncoolingandthereforeshouldnotbemounted
directlyaboveanyheatgeneratingequipment.TheDP570hasventholesinthefrontand
backoftheunit,andcanbeplaceddirectlyaboveorbelowotherrackmountedgear.
2.3.2 Making Input Connections
ConnectthemandatorymultichannelPCMsignalstothedigitaljacks.Usecaretoattach
theinputcablestotheproperconnectortoavoidinadvertentlymovingchannels.

Therearetwosetsofdigitalaudiooutputsontherearpanel.Oneistheoutputfromthe

Router Output

UsetheRouter Outputsforthemaindigitalsignaloutputregardlessofwhetheryouare
reassigningsignalstodifferentchannels.Forinformationonhowtoreassigninputsignals
todifferentchannels,seeChannelMappingandInputRoutingonpage37.

Emulator Output

TheseoutputsareaffectedbymetadatachangesyoumakeintheDP570andshouldonly
beusedtosendasignaltothemonitoringsystem.ConnectthemtoyourownD/A
converterifyouaremonitoringwithoutusingtheCat.No.548AnalogOptionCard.
2.3.4 Making the V Ref Connection
ConnecttheVRefsignaltoeitherofthetwojacksontherearpanel.Usethesecondjack
eithertopassthesignaltothenextdeviceinthechain,ortoterminateitwitha75Ω
impedanceonthelastdeviceinthesignalchain.
Note:TheDP570willnotoperatewithoutavalidsampleclocksignalpresentatthe
channel1/2inputconnection.
