Example 1—Overriding an Individual Parameter Value
We’llassumeyou areusinganexternalmetadatastream.TheoutputoftheDP570is
feedingaDP571orDP569.Youwantto addacompressionprofilebecausenonewas
originallyincluded.Todoso:
1. Selecttheprogramyouwishtochange.
2. ClicktheDynamicRangemetadatatabontheDolbyRemote570.
3. ClicktheradiobuttontochangethesourceoftheLineModeCompressionfrom
externaltointernal.
Youcannowselectoneofthefivecompressionprofiles(forexample,FilmLight).
4.3.3 Using External MetadataWhenusingexternalmetadata,makecertainthatthevaluesarecorrectfortheprogram.
Particularlywhenyouuseexternalprogramconfigurations,itisimportanttoensurethat
thenumberofprogramsandthenumberofchannelsineachprogramarecorrectlyset.
MonitoringwiththeDP570shouldalertyoutoanyproblems.
Example 2—Adding a Second Program or Changing a Program
SignalandmetadataflowfromthisexampleareshowninFigure4‐2.
We’llassumeyou receivea5.1‐channelprogramencodedinDolbyE,andyouwantto
createastereo‐compatiblemixforitandreencodebothontoanotherDolbyEmaster.Inthis
casethemetadataforthesecondprogramdoesnotyetexist,butyouwanttoretainthe
metadatafromthefirstprogram.Furthermore,theprogramconfigurationfromthe
originalstreammustbechangedbecauseitindicatesasingle5.1programinsteadofthe5.1
+2configurationyouarecreating.
Afteryoucreatethestereomix,youreencodethe5.1‐channelprogramalongwiththe
stereoprogramusingaDP571.
Tomonitorthereencodedprogram:
1. ClicktheIntradiobuttontoselectaninternalprogramconfigurationsource,and
choose5.1+2fromthedrop‐downlistinFigure2‐2.
2. SelecteitherexternalmetadatasourceforProgram1.
3. ClickProgramSelectbutton2 inthesoftware.
4. ClickInttoselectaninternalprogrammetadatasource,andselecttheparametersfor
thesecondprogrammetadata.
