Twisted-Pair Cable Assignments
For10/100BASE‐TXconnections,atwisted‐paircablemusthavetwopairsofwires.Eachwirepair
isidentifiedbytwodifferentcolors.Forexample,onewiremightbegreenandtheother,green
withwhitestripes.Also,anRJ‐45connectormustbeattachedtobothendsofthecable.
Figure C‐1illustrateshowthepinsontheRJ‐45connectorarenumbered.Besuretoholdthe
connectorsinthesameorientationwhenattachingthewirestothepins.

Caution: DO NOT plug a phone jack connector into the RJ-45 port. Use only twisted-pair cables
with RJ-45 connectors that conform with FCC standards.
