What's in a name?

To help make it easier for customers to select the HP product that best suits their needs, HP is changing its naming and model numbering system for consumer and commercial imaging and printing products.

Taking a descriptive and straightforward approach to naming, the HP naming architecture follows a basic hierarchy that begins with the master brand, followed by a

sub-brand or family name, model number, modifier and descriptor.

Examples:

š>F:[ia`[j<)'.&9ebeh7bb#_d#Ed[

š>FBWi[h@[jC*&(+Ckbj_\kdYj_ed

HP imaging and printing products may include one or two leading letters, which are abbreviations for product categories. The names also may include letters after the numbers, which indicate specific product bundles. The letters “d” (for duplex) and “n” (for network) are commonly used.
