Selecting the Metering Method
Choose the part of the sensor to use for measuring brightness and determining exposure. The following three methods are available.

| The sensor meters the brightness in 16 different zones. | |

L | Even in backlit locations, this mode automatically | ||

| determines what level of brightness is in which portion | |

| and automatically adjusts exposure. | |
| Metering is weighted at the center of the sensor. | ||
M | metering | The sensitivity increases at the center and no automatic | |

| adjustment is performed even during backlit scenes. | |

| The brightness is measured only within a limited area at | |
|
| the center of the sensor. | |
N Spot metering | You can use this in combination with the AE Lock | ||
|
| function (p.82) when the subject is extremely small and a | |
|
| correct exposure is difficult to obtain. |
