Record Adapter Card Identification Information

Should your card require service,its part number and date codemaybe neededby HP service personnel. This information is provided on a labeled sticker on the card. An example of a labeled sticker is illustrated in figure 1-2.

nThe number in the upper left (28655-6xx~cx)is the adapter card assemblypart number.

lThe 5-digit alphanumeric string (A-m) is the card version and date code.

mOther numbers (such asYYYY) arefor factory useonly.

Record the card’s part number and date codefor future reference. Once the card is installed, this information will be more diflicult to obtain.

Gather Tools and Accessories Needed

Check the hardware installation manualsfor your particular computer model for any special tools or accessoriesneeded to accessthe I/O card cage.The following items maybe needed for card installation:
