Setting the I/O Timeout

I/O Timeout sets the number of seconds that the printer waits to

receive additional data from the computer before switching I/O ports.

The default setting for the printer is 15 seconds.

Note

Setting the I/O Timeout too high may cause a single I/O port to remain

active and prohibit data from being received through other ports.

Setting I/O Timeout too low may result in missing characters, out-of-

order print jobs, or other print problems.

To set the I/O Timeout

1Press MENU until I/O MENU displays.

2Press ITEM until I/O TIMEOUT displays.

3Press VALUE to increase or decrease the I/O Timeout value. Holding the key down will change the value more quickly.

4Press SELECT to save the setting.

5Press GO to return the printer to the READY state.
