202 hp Jornada 920 series wireless digital assistant user’s guide

aircraft

Use of wireless telephones in an aircraft may be hazardous to safe aircraft operation, disrupt the wireless telephone network, and may be illegal. Please follow the instructions of your flight crew regarding the use of your hp Jornada on board aircraft.

blasting areas

To avoid interfering with blasting operations, turn off the phone functions of your hp Jornada when you are in a blasting area or any area posted “Turn off two-way radio.”

emergency calls

Like any wireless phone, your hp Jornada wireless digital assistant operates using radio signals, wireless, and landline networks as well as user-programmed functions, which cannot guarantee connection in all conditions. Therefore, you should never rely solely upon a wireless phone for essential communications (e.g., medical emergencies).

Remember: to make or receive any calls the phone must be switched on and in a service area with adequate signal strength. Emergency calls may not be possible on all wireless phone networks or when certain network services and/or phone functions are in use. Check with local service providers.

If certain features are in use (call barring, fixed dialing, closed user group, system lock, keypad lock, etc.), you may first need to turn those features off before you can make an emergency call. Consult this document and your GSM/GPRS service provider.

When making an emergency call, remember to give all the necessary information as accurately as possible. Remember that your hp Jornada may be the only means of communication at the scene of an accident. Do not end the call until given permission to do so.
