using the hp deskjet utility

The hp deskjet Utility provides options which affect printing style and output. It contains a number of useful tools to calibrate the printer, clean the print cartridges, print a test page, and find Website support information.

accessing the hp deskjet utility

1.Locate the Macintosh HD icon on the desktop.

2.Click Macintosh HD > Utilities > hp deskjet > hp deskjet utility.

viewing the hp deskjet utility panels

There are seven panels on the Utility screen. Select the panels to view the options available:

•The WOW! panel allows you to print a sample page to view the output quality of the printer.

•The Ink Level panel verifies the ink levels on the print cartridges.

•The Test panel allows you to print a test page.

•The Clean panel allows you to clean the print cartridges when your printed output is streaked or poor.

•The Calibrate panel aligns the print cartridges to improve print quality.

•The Support panel provides a Website address where you can find information about HP products and supplies, and support for the HP product you are using.

•The Register panel allows you to access the HP Website to register your HP Deskjet printer.
