Propagating the Kerberos Server

The prpadmin Administrative Application

The prpadmin Administrative Application

The /opt/krb5/adm/prpadmin administrative application runs on all security servers and helps you manage the propagation system. For example, to propagate all the contents of the primary principal database to all the secondary security servers, execute the prpadmin full_dump command on the primary security server.

You can run prpadmin from the command line or in a shell-like command loop.

If you run prpadmin from the command line, you must specify a particular command, as shown in the following example:

#./prpadmin full_dump

To run prpadmin in a shell-like command loop, execute prpadmin without any command, and specify a particular command, as shown in the following example:

#./prpadmin > full_dump

Typically, commands have the format command [hostnames]. On the primary security server, the only valid host names belong to secondary security servers; on the secondary security servers, the only valid host name is that of the primary security server or those secondary security servers that act as child servers to the parent secondary security server. Specify host names as FQDN.

For more information on prpadmin, type man 1 prpadmin (1) at the HP-UX prompt.
