1.Unfold wheelchair. Refer to Safety/Handling of Wheelchairs on page 19.

2.Attach spreader bar. Refer to Storing/Replacing Spreader Bar on

 

page 63.

Adjust the tightness of the headrest/back upholstery. Refer to

Make sure wheelchair is occupied and on a level surface before

Engage the wheel locks. Refer to Using Patient Operated Wheel Locks

6.Inform the occupant of the wheelchair that the wheelchair is about to be reclined.

7.Make sure occupant's hands and body are clear of all pinch points.

8.Stand behind the wheelchair and grasp both push handles firmly.

9.

Squeeze release handles.

10.

Slowly pull back on the back assembly while squeezing the release

11.When the back reaches the desired angle, slowly let go of the release handles.

12. To return the back to the full upright position, reverse STEPS 8-11
