Troubleshooting

The scanner automatically performs a simple self-test each time it is powered up.

This helps spot major system errors in the scanner itself. When the self-test is initiated, the READY light flashes. When the self-test is completed, if no error has occurred, the READY light is steadily illuminated.

Occasionally, you may experience a problem with your scanner. In many cases, you can easily fix the problem yourself. Refer to the following chart for some common problems and their solutions.

Problem

The light indicates that the scanner is ready, but the scanner does not respond to the scan command from the host computer.

The red error light is illuminated or is flashing after the scanner’s power cycle.
