Operating the HomeTheater Standard

After the HomeTheaterStandardis connectedto sourcedevicesandamplifiers, and systemsetupconfigured, the HomeTheaterStandardis readyfor operation.

ON/OFF/STAND-BY

1.Insert the ACpowercord into the IECpowerconnector(55) on the HomeTheater StandardInsert. the other endinto the ACwall receptacle.

2.Movethe backpanelpowerswitch(54) into the up (on) position.

3.Thered stand-byLEDon the front panelilluminates. ThewordsPLEASEWAIT, INITIALIZINGappearin the front paneldisplay(23). Whenthe initializing message disappears,the HomeTheaterStandardis ready to be poweredon.

Thefront paneldisplay showsvolume,input information, andselectedmodeAfter. five secondsof inactivity, the displaybecomesblank.

4.Useeither the front panelpowerbutton(1) or the remotecontrol HTSkey(57) poweron the HomeTheaterStandard.Theblue powerLED(2) on the front panel illuminates. TheHomeTheaterStandardis nowin the operational mode.

5.Toreturn to stand-by,pressthe powerbutton (1) or HTSkey(57) again.

Note

Krell recommendsthat the backpanelpowerswitchremainup (on) at all times.

TAPE INPUT AND OUTPUT

TheHomeTheaterStandardhasa discrete tape input andoutput. Thetape output is usedto sendan input signal fromS-1, S-2, S-3, S-4, B-l, or an input signal fromVCR1

to a recordingdeviceor processor.Youcanusethe tape feature in three ways:

1.Usethe tapeinput to playbackpre-recordedtapes.

2.Usethe tapeinput to comparethe output signal of a three-headanalogtape recorder to the outputsignal of anaudiosource.Pressthe tapebutton(14) or key(69) switch betweenthe tape recorder output (LEDilluminated) andthe input source(LED not illuminated).

Pressa devicekeya secondtime, after the devicehasbeenselected, to changethe tape output sourcebusto the currently selectedzone.Tapeout cancomefromthe mainzoneor zone2.

3.Usethe tape output to create a processorloop, whenthe HomeTheaterStandardis connectedto a graphicequalizeror other ancillary equipmentConnect.the equipmentto the HomeTheaterStandardtape outputs (37) as describedin the equipmentmanufacturer'smanual.Pressthe tape button (14) or key (69) to switch betweenthe processoroutput (LEDilluminated) andthe input source(LED illuminated).
