UnpackingPlacement

1.Openthe shipping box and removethe top layer of foam. Yousee these items:

1 KPS 25sc

1 acrylic cover in velvet pouch

1 KPS25sc tabletop remote control

1 KPS25sc handheld remote control

2 packagesof AAA-size1.5 Volt batteries (4 for tabletop remotecontrol, 2 for handheldremotecontrol)

1 compact disc clamp

1 IEC connector (AC Power) cord

1 12 VDC(12 V trigger) cable

1 T-10 Torx wrench(for remotecontrol battery installation andremoval)

1 cleaningkit for the acrylic cover

1packet containing the owner's reference manualand the warranty registration card

2.Carefully removethe unit and accessories from the shipping box. Removethe foam end caps and protective plastic wrap from the KPS25sc.

If any of these items are not included in the shipping box, please contact your authorized Krell dealer,distributor, or Krell for assistance.

Save all packing materials. If you ship your KPS25scin the future, repack the unit in its original packagingto prevent transit damage.

Before you install the KPS25scinto your sys- tem, review the following guidelines to properly place your component.This will facilitate a clean, trouble-free installation. TheKPS25sc doesnot require a special rack or cabinet for installation. For the dimensionsof the KPS25sc, see Specifications, on the backcover.

TheKPS25sc requires at least two inches (5 cm)of clearanceon eachside to providefor ade- quateventilation andat least 20 inches (50 cm) of clearance abovethe componentto allow for the operationof the acrylic cover. Installations inside cabinetry mayneedextra ventilation.

Note

The KPS25sc incorporates an advancedsus- pension systemand does not require addition- al masscoupling or isolation. Youmayexperi- mentwith feet or conesas long as they are not permanentlyaffixed to the unit. Any unautho- rized modificationsto the unit or electronicswill void the warranty.

IMPORTANT

Do not attach enhancementaccessories such as rings, mats, or dampersto individual com- pact discs. Theseaccessories mayinterfere with the compactdisc transport, resulting in erratic playbackand/or poor sound.

AC POWERGUIDELINES

The KPS25sc has superb regulation and does not require a dedicatedACcircuit. Avoidconnec- tions through extension cords or multiple AC adapters. High quality 15 ampgrounded AC strips are acceptable.High quality ACline con- ditioners or filters can be used if they are groundedand meet or exceedthe unit's power supply rating of 100VA.
