The following illustration shows the status of the jumpers and switches on the system board of your server. You can configure, recover, enable, or disable some specific features of the system board by setting the jumpers and switches.

1Clear CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) jumper

Attention: To set the jumpers or switches, you need to remove the server cover and gain access to the system board. Do not open your server or attempt any repair before reading and understanding “Safety information” on page iii and “Guidelines” on page 69.

Clear CMOS jumper

Used to clear CMOS and turn the BIOS settings into the factory default settings.

Note: Clearing CMOS does not erase your BIOS passwords.

To clear CMOS, do the following:
