Advanced Features

repeat playback

You can playback a section of tape over and over using repeat playback. The tape will play until the next index mark, rewind to the previous index mark, and resume playing. If there is only one index mark on the tape, then the VCR will play or rewind to that mark and resume playback. If there is no index mark, the entire cassette will repeat.

1Press AUDIO/VIDEO on the remote control to display the function menu. Press AUDIO/VIDEO until the Repeat play function appears.

2To start the playback, press ENTER.

When theVCR encounters the next mark or the end of the tape, it will automatically rewind to the previous mark and begin playback again.

TheVCR will also search for a blank section of tape. If the VCR encounters any blank sections longer than 4 seconds in length, the repeat playback will begin.

3Press STOP to cancel the repeat.

Search to blank

This feature allows you to find the end point of the recorded part of the tape. The VCR will stop automatically at the beginning of the blank section of a tape.

1Press AUDIO/VIDEO on the remote control to display the function menu. Press AUDIO/VIDEO until the Search to blank function appears.

2To start the search, press ENTER. When the VCR encounters the blank section of a tape, it will automatically stop.

IMPORTANT

This feature may not work correctly when the end point of the recorded part is within 5 minutes in SP mode (15 minutes in EP mode) from the current position.

Using PrograManager

PrograManager feature allows you to memorize the channel, month, date, hour and minutes of the programs you have recorded, and displays the list to confirm the contents of the tapes or to search the program which you want to playback.

To use PrograManager, you have to assign a number for each tape that you want to use this feature with and also specify the tape length (for example,T-120,T-160, etc.) before the recording can start. Also, the clock must be set correctly. When it has been set and program is recorded for more than 5 minutes in SP mode and/ or 15 minutes in EP mode, the recorded contents will be memorized in the VCR. This memorized data will be displayed and be used repeatedly when this tape is loaded again and its assigned tape number is entered.

The VCR can memorize the contents of up to 10 tapes (12 programs per tape at the maximum). If you record more than 13 programs for one tape, the memorized data will be erased from the first recorded program. You can erase the data of each tape.

If you set the Auto PrograManager in the Customize Choices menu to ON, the screen to decide whether you set the tape number will appear when the tape is loaded. See page 51 for more information on the Auto PrograManager.

Memorizing the contents of the tape
