CD-ROM Drive

All systems come with a 24X or higher Max Slim variable speed CD-ROM drive. Use the CD-ROM drive to load and start programs from a compact disc (CD). You can also use the CD-ROM drive to play your audio CDs.

The CD-ROM drive operates at different speeds depending on whether the CD you are using contains data or music. This allows you to get your data faster and to see smoother animation and video.

A flashing amber activity lamp on the front of the drive indicates that the drive is reading data. Press the tray button to open or close the CD-ROM tray for loading or unloading a CD. An emergency eject feature allows you to open the tray in case of a power or software malfunction.

Optional DVD-ROM Drive

Some systems might come with an optional DVD-ROM drive in place of the CD-ROM drive. Use the DVD-ROM drive to read DVD discs as well as standard audio and video CDs.

Speakers

The system has two 1-watt stereo speakers mounted inside the base of the LCD panel. Speaker volume is controlled by the volume control on the right side of the system unit. Volume can also be controlled through the Windows sound software.
