Problem 2:

Nothing happens when I turn on the printer.

Solution:

Check the power cord connection to the outlet. If you are using a power strip, make sure it is turned on, and that a fuse hasn’t blown or that a circuit breaker hasn’t tripped.

Problem 3:

The printer does not print when the computer sends data.

Solutions:

1Is the SEL light on? If not, press the SEL key.

2Check that the interface cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.

3If you have the optional serial interface board installed, check to be sure that it is firmly seated in the printer.

Problem 4:

I'm getting strange symbols, incorrect fonts, etc., when I try to print a document.

Solutions:

1Check to be sure that the printer driver you have selected in your software matches the printer emulation.

Press SHIFT and SEL keys, then press GROUP key.

This will print a line showing the emulation you have selected.

2If you have embedded any printer commands in your software, check to be sure that you entered them correctly.
