When the screen saver appears:

If a disc remains paused for a certain period of time, a screen saver appears. (Alternatively, you can program the unit to disable the screen saver (page 103).) Press or to display the paused image. Press again or press to resume playback.

This also applies to CD playback. If CD playback is paused for a certain period of time, the screen saver appears on screen. Press or to resume playback.

Stopping playback: DVD

For DVDs or video CDs, the unit displays “RESUME,” and the stop position is memorized (Resume function). This function is unavailable with MP3s and CDs.

Resuming playback from the stop position

Cancelling the Resume function

Stop playback and press again. Alternatively, eject the disc.

Tips

If you want to remove the disc but still want to resume playback from the last stopped posi- tion, use the LAST MEMORY feature instead (page 65).

The memorized resume position is erased when you open the disc tray, or change the Parental Lock Level setting (page 112) or On-Screen Display (OSD) language setting (page 108).

Ejecting a disc: DVD

Press on the PDR-155 to open the disc tray.

When the tray is completely open, remove the disc.

Press again to close the tray.

Optimizing the image quality DVD

During DVD video playback, visual noise (“snow”) may occasionally appear on screen. This suggests that the DVD video may include a large amount of high-resolution data. The degree of visual noise may depend on the TV. If you see some visual noise, adjust the sharpness on the TV to a negative value.
