Program playback may be disabled on some DVDs. In these cases, the mark will appear on the screen.

You cannot use Program playback during PBC playback of video CDs. Cancel the PBC play- back (page 53) if you wish to use Program playback

You can program only the chapters within a title (not in different titles).

When the chapter changes, the TV screen may sometimes display an image from a chapter that is not programmed. This is not a malfunction.

Programming chapters or tracks while viewing or listening to them

1 PROGRAM

While a chapter or track you wish to program is play- ing, press and hold PROGRAM for one second or more.

Hold down the button until the window shown on the left appears. Repeat this step for the chapters or tracks you wish to program.

Press PROGRAM.

Check the Program window. Press to start Program playback. To close the window without playing the program, press PRO- GRAM.

If a title has already been input in the Program Title window, the title — not a chapter — will be programmed.

If some chapters from a title have been input in the Program Chapter window, and if that title is different from the currently-playing title, trying to program the currently-playing chap-

ter will cause the unit to display , and you will be unable to program the chapter.

If a chapter or track has already been programmed, additional chapters or tracks will be added to the end of the program list.

If all 24 steps have been programmed, the unit displays , and you will be unable to add any more items.
