“Video”
Still Mode (paused video) [BD-V] [AVCHD] [DVD-V]
Select the type of pict ure shown when you pause playback
(>48,F rames and fields).
Auto
Field: Select if jittering occurs when “Auto” is selected.
(The picture is coars er.)
Frame: Select if small text or fine patterns ca nnot be seen
clearly when “Auto” is selected.
(The picture is clear er and finer.)
Seamless Play ]DVD-VR]
Select the play mode between playlist chapter segments and
partially deleted titles.
On: The chapters in playlists are played seamless ly. This
does not work while searching or when there are
several audio types i ncluded on the play list.
Additionally, the positioning of ch apter segments may
change slightly.
Off: The points where chapters in playlists change are
played accurately, but the picture may freeze for a
moment.

Dynamic Range Compression [BD-V] [AVCHD] [DVD-V] [DivX]
(Dolby Digital, Dolby D igital Plus and Dolby TrueHD only)
Change the dynamic r ange (>48) for late night viewing.

Dolby D/Dolby D +/

Dolby TrueHD

Select whether Dolby Digital,
Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD,
DTS Digital Surround,
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio or
DTS-HD Master Audio is output in
“Bitstream” or “PCM” format.
Not making the proper settings
may result in noise.
If the unit is connected with the
HDMI AV OUT terminal, the
specifications of the connected
equipment take precedence over
this unit and audio sele cted in
these items may not be o utput
(e.g., when a television is
connected, the HDMI audio output
of this unit is limited to down-
mixed 2ch.)
Bitstream:
Select “Bitstream” when the connected equipment can
decode the respective audio format.
jConnect equipment supporting HDM I (High Bit rate Audio)
and use a High Speed HDMI Cable in order to output high
bit rate audio such as Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD,
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio or DTS-HD Master Audio.
PCM:
Select “PCM” when the connected equipment cannot decode
the respective audio f ormat.
Refer to the operating instruc tions for connected devi ces to
verify whether or not t hey can decode e ach of the audio
formats.

DTS/DTS-HD

BD-Video Secondary Audio [BD-V]
Turn on/off the button clic k sound on the menu and audio with
secondary video in picture -in-picture mode. (>17)
On: The primary audio and secondary audio are mixed
and output. The sampling frequency is converted to
48kHz.
Off: The button click sound on the menu and secondary
audio are not output.

Downmix

Switch the downmix system for playing back multi-channel
surround sound.
When “Dolby D/Dolby D +/Dolby TrueHD” or “DTS/DTS-HD” is
set to “Bitstream”, there are no downmix effects for the
outputted audio.
The audio will be outputted in “Stereo” in the following cases:
jAVCHD playback
jPlayback of button cli ck sound on the me nu and audio with
secondary video in picture-in-picture mode
Stereo: When connected to equipmen t that does
not support the virtual surround function.
Surround encoded:When co nnected to equipment that
supports the virtual su rround function (t o
convert 2-channel to m ulti channel
surround).
