The unit is on but cannot be operated.
¾Is the incorrect playba ck media or operation f unction
selected?
¾The unit may not be operati ng properly due to lightning, static
electricity or some other external factor. Turn the unit off and
then back to ON. Alternatively, turn the un it off, disconnect
the power source (AC or battery pack), and then reconnect it.
¾Condensation has formed. Wait 1 to 2 hours for it to
evaporate.
Play fails to start even when [1](PLAY) is pressed.
Play starts but then stops immediately.
¾Insert the media correctly with the label facing up. (>13)
¾The media is dirty. (>5)
¾You tried to play a blank medi a or unplayable media on this
unit. (>6)
¾[DivX]: If playing DivX VOD content, refer to the homepage
where you purchased it. (>24)
No response when remote control buttons pressed.
¾Check that the battery is installed correctly. (>9)

¾Point the remote cont rol at the remote contro l sensor and

Start up is slow.
It takes time before play starts.

Played back image is distorted or does not play
back correctly. ([AVCHD])
¾High-definition vide o (transfer rate of 18Mbps or faster)
cannot be played back correctly if it was recorded on a DVD
compatible to double spe ed or slower.
Cannot set “On” in “24pOutput”.
¾Only when this unit is connected to a TV supporting 24p
output via an HDMI ca ble, you can set to “On” . (>38)
Buttons do not work.
¾Touch the operation panel (>8) ligh tly with a finger. It may
not respond when pressing with the tip of finger nail or wi th a
gloved finger.
No picture on the LCD.

¾[DivX]: Images may not be output due to how files were

The LCD is dark.
¾Select the appropriate Picture Quality mode. (>12)
LCD pixels turn black or radiate different colors.
¾The LCD is constructed w ith precision technolog y so
99.99% of the pixels are active, but of the remaining of
0.01 %, there are pixels tha t may be black or emit li ght
constantly. This phenomenon is not a malfunction.
Picture is distorted.
¾The quality of video will low er on the screen of this unit wh en
HDMI is connected. (>28 )
There is a lot of after-image when playing video.
¾Turn “3D NR” or “Integrated NR” off if it is on. (>27)
A black band is displayed around the edge of the
screen.
The aspect ratio of the screen is abnormal.
¾Confirm the “TV Aspect” is set pro perly. (>38)
Still pictures (JPEG) do not play back normally.
¾The images that were edited on the PC, such as Progressive
JPEG, etc., may not play back . (>42)
