Caller ID
Problem Cause/solution
Noise is heard, sound cuts in
and out.
LYou are using the handset or base unit in an area with high electrical
interference. Re-position the base unit and use the handset away
from sources of interference.
LMove closer to the base unit.
LIf you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack.
Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
The handset and/or base
unit does not ring.
LThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust the ringer volume (page 15).
LNight mode is turned on. Turn it off (page 24).
I cannot make a call. LThe dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Change the setting (page
12).
LThe handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer and try again.
I cannot make a voice
announcement.
LThe other unit is in use. Try again later.
Problem Cause/solution
Caller information is not
displayed.
LYou must subscribe to Caller ID service. Contact your service
provider/telephone company for details.
LIf your unit is connected to any additional telephone equipment such
as a Caller ID box or cordless telephone line jack, plug the unit
directly into the wall jack.
LIf you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a
DSL/ADSL filter between the base unit and the telephone line jack.
Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.
LOther telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit.
Disconnect the other equipment and try again.
Caller information is
displayed late.
LDepending on your service provider/telephone company, the unit
may display the caller’s information at 2nd ring or later.
LMove closer to the base unit.
Time on the unit has shifted. LIncorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the time.
Set the time adjustment to Off (page 22).
When you view the entry in
the caller list, the date and
time are displayed
incorrectly.
LThe date and time may be set incorrectly or the power failure may be
occurred. Set the date and time again (page 12).
