You can add natural width and depth to the stereo sound.
Press [SURROUND].
Every time you press the button:
SURROUND 1: Natural effect
SURROUND 2: Enhanced effect
SURROUND OFF: Cancel (factory preset)
•This does not work or has less effect with some discs.
•Turn off if it causes distortion.
•Do not use in combination with surround effects on other equipment.
•You cannot change SURROUND during recording.

Manual EQ
1 Press and hold [SOUND].
“BASS” and “TREBLE” appear on the display.
2Press [SOUND] to select a setting.

3Press [e] or [r] while either “BASS” or “TREBLE” is flashing to change the level
•You cannot change SOUND (Sound field and quality) during recording.
Muting the volume
Press [MUTING].
Volume is reduced to minimum.
To cancel
Press [MUTING] again or reduce the volume to minimum, then raise it to the required level.
Muting is also canceled when you switch the unit to standby.
