Recording on a DVD+RW, DVD+R

General

Discs you can use

DVD+RW (Digital Versatile Disc + rewriteable)

This disc is rewriteable. That means, you can delete your recordings an use the disc again and again. More than 1000 times. DVD+RW discs can be used without finalising procedure in the most existing and future DVD-Players.

DVD+R (Digital Versatile Disc + recordable)

Unlike a DVD+RW disc, this disc can only be written to once. If it is not finalised after a recording, further recordings can be added to it. Old recordings can be later deleted but they can no longer be overwritten. Before this disc can be played in a DVD player, it must be finalised in the DVD recorder.

Two way compatibility

This Philips DVD recorder can play back pre-recorded DVDs and CDs. DVDs recorded using this DVD recorder can be played back on current and future DVD players. DVD+R discs must be finalised to play it back on a DVD-player.
