Use’Manual Recording’ to make a spontaneous recording (for
example,a programme currently being shown).
EIfyou want to start and stop a recording manually, read
thesection ’Recording without automatic switch-off’.
EIfyou want to start a recording manually but have it
stoppedautomatically, read the section ’Recording with
automaticswitch-off’. This is important if you, for
instance,don’t want to record to the end of the cassette.
EReadthe section ’Direct record’ if you want torecord a
programmecurrently being shown.
EReadthe section ’Automatic recording from a satellite
receiver’,if you want a recording to be controlled
automaticallyby a satellite receiver.

Recording without automatic switch-off

youwant to record, for example, ’P01’. This will appear on
thedisplay:

DWhena TV channel transmits a channel name, it will
showon the video recorder display.
DProgrammenumbers ’E1’ and ’E2’ are for recording
fromother sources (through scart sockets
AV1EXT1 and AV2 EXT2 ).
Programmenumber ’E3’ is for recording from the
audioand video front sockets.
cTostart recording, press RECORDnon the remote control
or RECORDnon the video recorder. This will, for
instance,appear in the display.

DWith OK youcan show the tape position in the
display.

aPuta cassette in the machine.
bUse ;Pqor rP=toselect the programme number

cPress RECORDnon the remote control.
dEachtime you press RECORDnyou will add 30 minutes to
therecording time.
DTocancel this information, press CLEAR(CL) .

Protecting your recordings

Sothat you don’t accidentally delete animportant recording,
removethe special tab on the narrow side of the cassette with
ascrewdriver or slide the special tab to the left. Later, if you
nolonger want to protect your recording, you can seal the gap
againwith sticky tape or slide the special tab to the right.

Auto-assembling

Youcan use the auto-assembling function to join individual
recordingswithout any major picturedisturbance between
them.
aWhilethe cassette is playing, search for the correct
positionon the tape.
bStopthe cassette by pressing STOP h.’9’will appear
inthe display.
cNowstart recording as usual by pressing RECORDnon
theremote control.
dTostop recording, press STOP h.
