09Initial Settings for DVD player

6 Click the joystick.

The parental lock level is set.

Notes

We recommend to keep a record of your code number in case you forget it.

The parental lock level is recorded on the disc. You can confirm it by looking at the disc pack- age, included literature or on the disc itself.

With discs that do not feature a recorded parental lock level, you cannot use parental lock.

With some discs, parental lock operates to skip certain scenes only, after which normal playback resumes. For details, refer to the disc’s instructions.

Pressing RETURN takes you back to the previ- ous display.

4 Click the joystick.

This enters the code number, and you can now change the level.

If you input an incorrect code number, the prohibited mark “ ” is displayed.

Press CLEAR and input the correct code num- ber.

If you forget your code number, refer to If you forget your code number on page 70.

5Move the joystick left/right to select the desired level.

6Click the joystick.

The new parental lock level is set.

Changing the level

You can change the set parental lock level.

1 Move the joystick up/down to select

PARENTAL.

PARENTAL is indicated in blue.

2 Click the joystick.

Parental lock setting menu is displayed.

3Press NUMBER buttons to input the regis- tered code number.

When playing DVDs enabling parental lock

When you play a disc featuring parental lock, code number input indications may be displayed. If this happens and you do not input the correct code number, playback will not begin.
