7. Q & A

Q: Is there a convenient way for adjusting the plasma display monitor?

A:With the PDP-504CMX/PDP-50MXE1/PDP-50MXE1-S, adjustments are possible using the “AUTO SET UP MODE”. CBdrvU ver.2.0 also provides a pop-up menu, in which you can output the test image signal by selecting “Test Mode” = “Test Image”.

Q: Is calibration possible for resolution that is not specified by the VESA standard?

A:Even when dealing with unknown calibration, CBdrvU is capable of performing the 4-point calibration and control the special pen. However, Easy Setting is not available in this case.

When displaying a picture with other resolution than specified, be sure to confirm that the plasma display monitor is compatible with the resolution.

Q: What is a good way of checking network settings?

A:Use the CBdrvU ver. 2.0 pop-up menu to open the “Test Mode” and see if the IP address and name of the connected computer appear.

For information on how to set the IP address and computer name, consult the PC administrator.

Q: What to do if the position of the special pen tip is deviated?

A:The condition of normal output to the plasma display monitor is set as the initial value, but it may be deviated slightly due to the difference in video card. If this happens, use the detailed calibration for setting. The set value is held in memory even after the next startup or resolution change.

Q:Is it necessary to prepare a special development library when creating an application using the handwriting device?

A:CBdrvU is a permanently resident type device driver. It is capable of converting the absolute coordinates on the handwriting device into the mouse coordinates by simply being started up. Therefore, an application can be created and run in the completely identical methods to general Windows applications. This means that no special tool like an API, DLL or SDK is necessary.

For the method of creating applications, refer to the Help in your development tool.
