Power does not turn on

\Connect the AC adapter properly. (Page 41)

Playback is not possible

\Disc is extremely dirty.

\Disc is not properly set on disc table.

\Region number is wrong.

\There is condensation inside the player.

\SECAM format discs cannot be played on this player.

\When the TV SYSTEM switch is set to NTSC, PAL format DVDs cannot be played on this player.

\Disc is loaded upside-down.

\Audio/video input/output selector switch is set to AV-IN (left side).

\When the TV SYSTEM switch is set to PAL or AUTO, the display screen is turned off and the video image is not displayed.

\The operation is prohibited by the disc itself.

\The operation is prohibited by the player.

Picture stops or buttons do not operate

\Press the pause button, then resume playback.

\Main unit’s power switch is set to “HOLD”.

Settings are cleared

\The settings are cleared if there is a power failure or the power cord is unplugged while the power is on. Before unplugging the power, always slide the main unit’s power switch or press the power button on the remote control unit so that “OFF” turns off on the main unit’s display window.

Picture is disturbed or dark when

playing a DVD

\This player is compatible with analog copy protect type copy guards. Some discs include copy prohibit signals. Problems such as horizontal stripes on the picture, etc., may occur when such discs are played. This is not a malfunction of the player.

Playback stops or power turns off

during operation

\When using the battery pack (PDV-BT10), to save energy the stop mode is set after about 5 minutes in the pause mode and the power is turned off about 5 minutes after the stop mode is set.
