Note: The Power Properties Schemes settings are cumulative—that is, to deter- mine when the NETBOOK PRO enters ‘Suspend’ state, the unit waits for the ‘Switch to Dim’ time to elapse, followed by the ‘Switch to Stand-By’ time, and then, once the ‘Switch to Suspend’ time has elapsed, ‘Suspend’ state is activated.

When setting the Switch to Dim, Switch to Stand-By, and Switch to Suspend states,

keep the following in mind. Because the NETBOOK PRO ‘wakes up’ from the Dim and Stand-Bystates almost instantaneously following any user input (button press, screen tap), the timeouts you set will not slow user activity. The sum of the Switch to

Dim, Switch to Stand-By, and Switch to Suspend timeouts should be selected care-

fully since the NETBOOK PRO will go to sleep (appear off) when this time has elapsed, saving battery power.

Psion Teklogix recommends starting with a total of 10 minutes for this overall time- out. Setting any of these time-outs to Never does not affect the other time-out options, but will adversely affect the battery run time. If all three time-outs are set to Never, the NETBOOK PRO will remain on. To further reduce power consumption, carefully consider the duration of time that the display backlight is ON or turned up
