2.6 TROUBLESHOOTING

Table 2-12 lists troubleshooting tips in the event that your tape drive fails its power-on self test or if it signals a problem via its front panel LEDs.

If, after attempting the recommended actions listed in Table 2-12, the problem still exists or recurs, a hardware failure may be the cause. Contact your service representative.

Ensure that a terminator is installed at each end of the bus. One terminator is usually installed at the host end of the bus.

Limit bus length to ANSI SCSI standard for the SCSI interface being used.

Limit the number of devices on the bus (including the SCSI adapter) to match the limits of the interface being used.
