Changing the Focusing Mode

(FOCUS: MULTI AF/SPOT AF)

If you shoot the subject in the default focusing mode, the camera focuses automatically (AF).

The camera automatically measures the distances to a maximum of five AF areas among 17 AF areas and focuses to the nearest AF area (MULTI AF), preventing the central area of the subject from becoming out of focus and allowing you to shoot with a minimum number of out-of-focus pictures.

You can select only one AF area at the center of the LCD monitor to allow the camera to focus on this area automatically (SPOT AF). Five different focusing modes are supported.
