Preventing camera shake

If the camera moves when you press the shutter button, the still image might not come out clearly (due to camera shake). The

mark displayed on the LCD monitor indicates that camera shake should be avoided under the current shooting condition.

To prevent camera shake, use a tripod or hold the camera securely with both hands when you shoot.

Note that camera shake tends to occur in the following cases:

When shooting in a dark place without using the flash

When shooting in Slow Sync Mode (P.37)

When using the Zoom function

If the camera shake mark ( ) is displayed, try the following:

Using the camera shake correction function (P.29).

Using the flash (Set the camera to [Auto] or [Forced Flash] Mode) (P.37).

Raising the ISO sensitivity (P.83).

Using the self-timer (P.88).
