Paper jam

Paper is jammed inside the printer.

• Clear the paper jam. See “Clearing Paper Jams” on page 7.7.

Door open, or no toner cartridge

The printer top cover may be opened or the toner cartridge is not installed.

Check that the printer top cover door and rear door (face-up output tray) are closed properly.

Make sure that the toner cartridge is correctly installed in the printer.

Memory out (Insufficient Memory)

The printer ran out of memory in the middle of a print job. The page being printed may have been too complex for the memory capacity of the printer. Press the Cancel/Reprint button to cancel the current job.

Turn the printer power off and back on to remove any unnecessary fonts, macros, or any data currently in printer memory.

Add more printer memory. See “Memory and PostScript SIMMs” on page H.2.

For a temporary solution, simplify the image or print at a lower resolution.

System error

Reset the printer by briefly turning the printer off and back on again.

If the error persists, contact the service representative.
