The format function completely deletes all files and options on the storage media, including protected files.

•Do not remove the recording medium or perform any other operation (such as turning off the power) during formatting. Also, be sure to use the provided AC power adaptor, as the recording medium may be corrupted if the battery loses its charge during formatting. If the recording medium becomes corrupted, format it again.

File No.
File numbers are assigned to recorded files in the order they were recorded.
