Selecting a Character Input Mode
Your phone provides convenient ways to enter words,letters,
punctuation,and numbers whenever you are prompted to enter
text (for example,when adding a Contacts entry or when
sending text,picture messages).
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text,
press (right softkey).
2. Select a character input mode:
Note:The menus displayed vary according to the entry field. If you see
triangles on the right and left of the menu, you can press the right and
left navigation keys to switch between related menus.
Alphabetto enter characters by using the keypad.
T9 Wordto enter characters using T9 Text Input (see page 26).
SYMBOLto enter symbols.
SMILEYSto enter smiley pictures.
Emoticonsto enter an emotion icon. (For Text Message only.)
PRESET SUFFIXto enter a preset suffix.
Canned Messagesto enter canned messages.
Recent Messagesto enter messages used recently.
Pasteto paste copied or cut text (if applicable).
NUMBERto enter numbers.
Signatureto enter your signature (see page 44).
Select Languageto select the language (English or French).
Erase Allto erase all text (if applicable).
Select Textto select stored text for copying or cutting.
Add Wordto store words that you use frequently.
Tip:Before entering text, press the key to change letter
capitalization (Abc> ABC > abc).
Note:Up to three of the most recently used input modes are displayed
from the top of the input mode list when (right softkey) is pressed
during text entry. To turn off this feature, select > Settings> Others >
Text Entry> Recent Access > Off.
