5 If any of the following conditions occu r, turn off the p rinter and unpl ug the power cord
from the power outlet:
• The power cord is damag ed or frayed.
• Liq uid has been s pilled into the p rinter or the pr inter has been exp osed to rain or wate r.
• The printer does not recove r from an error or the printer does not operate normal ly when
the operating ins tructions are fo llowed.
• The printer exhibits a distinct cha nge in perform ance, such as em itting a stran ge noise,
odor or smoke.
6 Before u sing your SLP, plea se remove the clea r protective tape coverin g on the engin e
cover and Roll cover.
7 When the SLP is unu sed for a period of time without a label, the p laten rubber ma y
become stuck. Thi s condition may cause a fatal er ror in the printer mechanism. To avo id
this, please kee p a label loade d in the SLP — even when not in us e.
Installation
For best performa nce, we recommend t hat you install yo ur printer on a fl at surface in a
location that sat isfies the follow ing environmental conditions:
• Not s ubject to vibrati on
• Not exp osed to direct su nlight
• Dus t-free
• Cond ensation-free
• Tempera tures: 59 to 95°F (15 to 35°C)
• Hum idity: 30 % RH to 80% R H (non-conden sing)
