Playing back tapes with digital effect
During playback, you can process a scene using the following digital effect functions:
STILL, FLASH, LUMh and TRAIL.
(1) In the playback or playback pause mode, press MENU. Select D EFFECT in
with the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial (p.176}.
(2) Select the desired digital effect mode in the menu settings, then press the SEL/
PUSH EXEC dial. The digital effect indicator lights up and the bars appear. In
the STILL orLUMI. mode, the image where you press the SEL/PUSH EXEC
dial is stored in memory asa still image.
(3) Turn the SEL/PUSH EXECdial to adjust the effect, then press the dial.

To cancel the digital effect
SetD EFFECT to OFF in the menu settings.
Notes
• You cannot process externally input scenes using digital effect functions.
• To record images that you have processed the image using the digital effect function,
record images on a "Memory Stick" (except DCR-TRVI6) (p. 117, 128},or on aVCR
using your camcorder as a player.
Pictures processed bydigital effect functions
•Pictures processed by digital effPct functions are not output through the i, DV IN/
OUT jack.
• You cannot use tile tape PB ZOOM function for pictures processed by digital effect
functions.
When you set the POWER switch to OFF(CHG) or stop playing back
Tile digital effect function is automatically canceled.
