The docking station automatically charges the battery. The battery charger indicator light is on while the battery is charging. When the battery is fully charged, the battery charger indicator light turns off.

Make sure the docking station is in a horizontal position and do not move the docking station while the battery is in the docking station charger bay.

To operate your computer using battery power, you must insert the battery in the computer’s battery bay. The docking station bay is designed to charge batteries and cannot be used as a power source for your computer or docking station.

When charging two batteries at the same time, the battery in the computer’s battery bay has priority over the battery in the docking station’s battery bay. Use the computer’s battery bay to charge the battery if you are in a hurry.

If the computer is attached to the docking station, you cannot charge the battery in the docking station battery bay while the computer’s power indicator light is green or amber.

The battery charger indicator light indicates that the battery is charging. To determine the actual amount of charge, insert the charged battery in the computer and use BatteryScope (see “Displaying Battery Information” on page 70).

To remove the battery pack

Open the cover of the battery charger bay. Press the Eject button.

Pull out the battery pack.

Close the cover of the battery charger bay.
