Customizing the remote commander for deck A of

a double-cassette deck

The remote commander’s TAPE/MD button is factory set to operate single-cassette decks or deck B if you have a double-cassette deck. To control deck A, first you need to customize one of the function buttons for deck A.

You can customize the VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2, CD, TAPE/MD, or TV function buttons. While pressing the selected function button, press the number button 5. (You must select the function button corresponding to the input jacks the cassette deck is connected to.)

Now that function button operates deck A. To change the button’s function again, see “Customizing the remote commander function buttons” on page 91.

To play back a tape, follow the instructions in “Playing a tape” on the previous page. During the procedure, press the function button you customized for deck A in step 1 instead of TAPE/MD, and insert a recorded cassette into deck A in step 2 instead of deck B.
