Entering Numbers, Symbols, Smileys and Preset Messages
Toenternumbers:
▶Select the NUMBER mode and press the appropriate key. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 43).
Toentersymbols:
▶Select the SYMBOL mode. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 43.) To enter a symbol, press the appropriate key indicated on the display.
Toenter“emoticons”(smileys):
▶Select the Emoticons mode or SMILEYS mode and press the appropriate key. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 43.)
Toenterpresetmessages:
1.Select the PresetMessagesmode. (See “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 43.)
2.Scroll to the desired preprogrammed message and press

Note: Presetmessages make composing textmessages even easier by allowing you to enter presetmessages, such as “Meetme at,” “Let’s getlunch,”or a customized message of your own. (For more information on presetmessages, please see “Managing PresetMessages”on page 66.)
