Installing the USB Device Driver

Whenconnecting the printer to your computer with a USB cable, install the

USBdevice driver according to the following instructionsbef oreinstalling the

printerdriver.

Note

InWindows 2000/XP, you do not have to install the USB device driver.

Whenthe “Found New Hardware” wizard dialog box appears, cancel it.

Installingthe USB Device Driver under Windows Me and

981Turn on yourcomputer.

2Turnon the printer.

3WhenWindows and the printer are both ready, insert the CD-ROM,

includedwith your printer, into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

4Connectthe printer to the computer with the USB cable. The Add New

HardwareWizard dialog box appears.

Followthe instructions on the screen.

Browsethe printer driver CD-ROM and navigateto:

“drivers\English\Win9x”(for Windows Me and 98).

5Click Finish. This completes t he installation of the USB device d river.

6Whenthe Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears after clicking

Finish,click Cancel.
