Thereare four batteries within the instrument that allow the retention of
volatile memory upon loss of the AC power source. These selfĆcontained
power sources provide memory backup power to retain the following:
HfrontĆpanelsettings
Hstoredsettings
Hstoredwaveforms
HTime & Date parameters
Hsome of the Time Base Cal Constants (these are regenerated automatiĆ
cally if lost)
Hthe number of hours of instrument onĆtime, number of powerĆonseĆ
quences, and instrument serial number
The batteries have a nominal shelf life of approximately five years.
The following environmental requirements are provided so that you can
ensure proper functioning and extend the operation of the instrument.

Operating Temperature

The instrument can be operated where the ambient air temperature is beĆ
tween 0_ C and +50_ C andcan be stored in ambient temperatures from
-40_ C to +75_ C. Afterstorage at temperatures outside the operating
limits, allow the chassis to reach the safe operating temperature before
applying power.

Ventilation Requirements

The fan draws air through the side panels of the instrument and blows air
out through the rear to cool the instrument. Toensure that this cooling
processoccurs properly, allow at least two inches clearance on both sides
and the rear of the instrument. The top and bottom of the instrument do not
require ventilation clearance.
