BIOS Configuration

Primary

The system wakes up fully when it detects IRQ activity.

 

 

 

The system does not wake up, but the interrupt request is

 

processed. Secondary interrupts are typically

 

housekeeping devices needed to maintain the system while

not requiring the use of the rest of the system resources.

 

For example, IRQ8, the RTC Alarm, is configured as

 

Secondary by default. Another example might be a

 

network adapter continually polled by the network.

 

 

IRQn

The following is a list of IRQs (Interrupt Request Lines) assigned to common

system peripherals.

 

IRQ3 (COM2)

IRQ10 (Reserved)

IRQ11 (Reserved)

IRQ5 (LPT2)

IRQ12 (PS/2 Mouse)

IRQ6 (Floppy Disk)

IRQ13 (Coprocessor)

IRQ7 (LPT1)

IRQ14 (Hard Disk)

IRQ8 (RTCAlarm)

IRQ15 (Reserved)

IRQ9 (IRQ2 Redir)
