17. Annual Maintenance
17.1 Warnings:
The procedures detailed in this chapter must be carried out only by a professionally qualified person. Thus you are advised to contact an Authorised Service Agent.
For efficient and continuous operation of the boiler you are advised to have, at least once a year, maintenance and cleaning done by an Approved Service Person.
Isolate the appliance from the electricity supply by turning off the fused spur isolation switch adjacent to the appliance and turn off the gas cock, before carrying out any procedures, whatsoever, for cleaning, maintenance, opening or dismantling boiler panels.
17.2 Dismanteling the external panels:

17.3Emptying the Central Heating System:
•Close the pressure reducing automatic fill valve (28 on
Section 4)
•Open the central heating drain cock (F in Fig. 17.3).
•Empty the c.h. system.
•Close the central heating drain cock (F in Fig. 17.3).
•Open the pressure reducing automatic fill valve (28 on Section 4)
17.4Cleaning the primary heat exchanger:

•Take off the front panel of the case, then the sealed chamber lid and the front panel of the combustion chamber.
If you notice dirt on the fins of the primary heat exchanger (9 on page 10), cover the sloping surfaces of the burner (7 on page 10) entirely in a protective layer (sheets of newspaper or similar). Brush out the primary heat exchanger (9 on page 10) with a bristle paintbrush.
