Important safety instructions
When using your telephone equipm ent, basic safety precau tions should always be foll owed to
reduce the risk of re, electric s hock and injury, includi ng the following:
Read and understand all instru ctions.
Follow all warnings and instruct ions marked on the produc t.
Unplug this product from the wall o utlet before cleaning. D o not use liquid or aerosol cl eaners.
Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Do not use this product near water.
Do not place this product on an unst able table, shelf, stand o r other unstable surfac es.
Slots and openings in the back or bot tom of the telephone bas e and handset are provided for
ventilation. To protect them from overheatin g, these openings must no t be blocked by placing
the product on a soft surface s uch as a bed, sofa or rug. This p roduct should never be plac ed
near or over a radiator or heat register. This prod uct should not be placed i n any area where
proper ventilation is not provide d.
This product should be operate d only from the type of power s ource indicated on the mar king
label. If you are not sure of the type of powe r supply in your home or ofc e, consult your dealer
or local power company.
Do not allow anything to rest on the powe r cord. Do not install this pr oduct where the cord may
be walked on.
Never push objects of any kind into thi s product through the sl ots in the telephone base or
handset because they may touch dan gerous voltage points or c reate a short circuit. Neve r spill
liquid of any kind on the product.
To reduce the risk of electric shock , do not disassemble thi s product, but take it to an
authorized service facilit y. Opening or removing part s of the telephone base or han dset other
than specied access door s may expose you to dangerous vol tages or other risks. Inco rrect
reassembling can cause elec tric shock when the prod uct is subsequently us ed.
Do not overload wall outlets and exten sion cords.
Unplug this product from the wall o utlet and refer servic ing to an authorized servi ce facility
under the following conditio ns:
When the power supply cord or plug is d amaged or frayed.
If liquid has been spilled onto the p roduct.
If the product has been exposed to r ain or water.
If the product does not operate nor mally by following the ope rating instructions. A djust
only those controls that are covere d by the operation instru ctions. Improper adjus tment of
other controls may result in damage a nd often requires extens ive work by an authorized
technician to restore the produ ct to normal operation.
If the product has been dropped a nd the telephone base and /or handset has been
damaged.
If the product exhibits a distin ct change in performa nce.
Avoid using a telephone (other than cord less) during an electric al storm. There is a remote ris k
of electric shock from lightn ing.
Do not use the telephone to repor t a gas leak in the vicinity o f the leak.
Only put the handset of your telepho ne next to your ear when it is in norm al talk mode.
The power adapters are intended to be co rrectly oriented in a ver tical or oor mount posi tion.
The prongs are not designed to hold t he plug in place if it is plugg ed into a ceiling,
under-the-table or cabinet out let.
