Troubleshooting
Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone telep hone. When dialing a number,
there should be tones. If there are clicks, th en it is not a touch-tone telephone and
cannot activate the answering system.
The answering system may not detect the remote acce ss code when your
announcement is playing. Wait until the announ cement is over before entering
the code.
There may be interference on the telephone l ine you are using. Press the dial pad
keys rmly when dialing.
I subscribe to a nontraditional telephon e service that uses my computer to establish connections , and my telephone doesn’t work.
Make sure your computer is powered on.
Make sure your Internet connection is working p roperly.
Make sure that the software is installed an d running for your nontraditional
telephone service.
Make sure to plug your USB telephone adapter into a dedi cated USB port on
your computer. Do not plug into a multiple port USB hub (US B splitter) that is
not powered.
In a few rare instances, the USB port on your com puter may not have enough
power. In these instances, try using a USB hub wit h its own external power supply.
If you are using a rewall, it may prevent access to your nontrad itional telephone
service. Contact your service p rovider for more information.
Common cure for electronic equipme nt.
If the telephone is not responding norm ally, put the cordless handset in the
telephone base. If it does not respond, tr y the following (in the order listed):
Disconnect the power to the telephone ba se.
Disconnect the battery on the co rdless handset.
Wait a few minutes before connecting power to the telep hone base.
Install the battery again and place th e cordless handset in the telepho ne base
or charger.
Wait for the cordless handset to synchronize wi th the telephone base. Allow up to
one minute for this to take place.
